You can now obtain your National Certificate in Electrical Engineering N2 in 2022 through distance. The certificate is offered by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) and the quality assurer is Umalusi. The National Certificate is registered by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) under NQF Level 2. The Electrical Engineering N2 certificate can be obtained from three to four months.

Three fields of electrical engineering N2
Electrical Engineering N2 is divided into three fields of study which are:
- Electrical engineering N2 heavy current
- Electrical engineering N2 light current
- Electrical engineering N2 instrumentation
Requirements for Electrical Engineering N2 in 2022 through distance learning
In order to qualify for the course you need to have the follwing:
N1 National Certificate Engineering Studies or
Grade 11 (with Mathematics, Science) or an equivalent qualification

- Previous question papers with answers for revision
- Online classes for selected subjects
- Assignments for the student term mark
Registration times and exam times
There are three registration and exam times throughout the year for Electrical Engineering N2 in 2022 through distance learning
These are grouped as follows
- For March/April exams, the registration times are in January
- For July/August exams the registration times are in May
- For November exams the registration times are in August

Awarding of certificate for Electrical Engineering N2
The student needs to pass four relevant subjects under N2 in order to be awarded a certificate. The national certificate is called: Certificate of Achievement N2: Engineering Studies
