Hi, what will happen if one fail the November and December final exam? Will there be a chance to rewrite?
I have to agree to an extend that most technical certificates/courses and vocational training certificate courses are pretty redundant afterall. The course work is no different to that of the formal high school academic route in particular mathematics and science subjects. The Vocational and technical modules/courses are not 100% aligned to the real purpose/fields/trades of artisans and technical industries. A new and more pure aligned route and thorough course set should be instated and decoupled from school oriented systems routes/modules/accreditations.
The 2/3 year completion time lapse and work experience requirements is also another point to be re evaluated.
Good day Michael. I do agree with you and in the meetings with DHET and Umalusi/QCTO, this has been raised on numerous occassions. The only answer we get is that they will revise the curriculum but that has been the same for the last more than 20 years….
Can’t the department extend the phasing out of technical matric?
At the moment they are not mentioning any extensions…
i wish the DHET can give us another chance to register for technical matric because due to corona virus we couldn’t register. We plead with the DHET to give us another chance.
We also hope so.
Some of us like myself I was not knowing that this could be the last year for technical metric the year of 2020. From the information I had was that the registrations begins in may/june as previous years I did register between those particular months but as another information came in by some institution it was said that the registrations are only open in February and already it was too late for me to register.so during this pandemic it was founded difficult for people like me to register this year so pleading on authorities that they should look on this matter very well to extend this technical metric to be written again in this year of 2021.
We are also hoping they will extend technical matric. We did send a petition on it.
Any news regarding the extension if technical matric?
Unfortunately it is closed.
